I haven' t been on here in a while and thought I' d ease on back in...I see alot of guys and gals have had alot of success out in the field this spring......the gobblers here in the mountains aren' t doing anything.....the best I can tell is that they' re still extremely henned up.....but my dad and I went to the eastern part of the state to hunt and the first morning out we doubled up......we had two gobblers working.....we were watching both gobblers, one came in to 15 yard while the other stayed out probably 150 yards or better......dad shoot the first one, and I stated cutting really loud and the other didn' t spook, I couldn' t believe it....we worked him in about 25 minutes later.....mine was 22.5lbs 11.5" beard, 1 1/8 spurs......dad' s was 20.5lbs, 10.5" beard and 3/4" spurs......this is the second year in a row that we' ve doubled up....last year we split up and he took one and I took one.....this year we were together, he called mine in, and vise versa.....just a great hunt.....the next day we tagged up on one for the land owner....his was 19lbs and some change......so I' d say we had a pretty good hunt....that was the first week of the season, If I don' t take another this spring, My year has already been made!!

I' ve called in a couple birds with my dad that he has killed, but never got to double with him. He took my uncle, his brother, a few years back for his first turkey hunt and they doubled. They acted like kids in a candy store. We both have tags for IL 4th season and 5th season, maybe we can be as fortunate. We have both already taken a bird apiece this year, but a double together would be awesome. Congrats.
