Turkey Contest Trophy Room(Part 1)

This post is for the trophies that everyone harvested. If you have a bird to enter in the contest post it here and with the score. This way, once the birds start to flowing into this place, the post of everyones turkeys won' t be scattered all over the forum Also feel free to add any pics of the hunt or bird. I will try to post the scores over to the other post as soon as I can. I' ve been really busy in life lately but will try my hardest to keep the contest updated. Good luck to everyone!

TEAM #8----47.37 points.Only had a 6.5 inch beard.I didnt realize how young he was.I took a friend who had never been that didnt have a gun.I let him use my gun and I did the calling and called in 6 long beards. He killed a 19 lbs.10 1/2 beard TOM. All this with in 20 minutes of getting out of the truck.I told him not to think it will be that easy every time.So i took him again for the second time and he kills another one with 11 1/2 inch beard and 1 1/8 spurs.Lucky joker.I also took a cousin that killed 2 Toms with 10 1/2 beards. If i can find someone with a scanner I will post the pics later.

RE: Turkey Contest Trophy Room(Part 1)

Managed to get two easterns in Ks. Both were jakes, and hunting was tough where we were. The first one weighed in at 17.5#, no spurs to measure with a 3" beard. So I figure 23.5. The second weighed in at 16#, no spurs with a 2" beard. So I figure a score of 20. Going to be some good eating, and I left all the big birds for next year:)

I took my first bird yesterday morning. Shot him in NW North Carolina.

Bird Stat' s

Weight 17. 3lbs.
L. Spur 1/2"
R. Spur 1/2"
Beard 6"

Score: 39.1875

I thought he was more mature, but still happy to harvest him.

My brother-in-law, myself & landowner all went opening morning in NC. The landowner is 74 years old and had never taken a spring gobbler. We called in and videoed 3 longbeards. The landowner took a double bearded(10" & 6" ) for his first. My brother-in-law took a 10.75" bearded/1 3/8" spurred gobbler on the same set up. Made for great footage and tickled the landowner to no end.
