Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Day 7.........tagged out!!

What a morning! Birds were hammering past 8:10am this morning. We roosted these birds last night with the help of a thunder storm that rolled in. Nice little spot in Virgil NY. I bet we heard better than 2 dozen birds gobbling this morning. Long story short, I had two gobblers come in right from the roost and gobble in my face less than 10 yards. I bagged the bigger of the two. Decent 8" beard, but very light tom (15lbs)

I hunted with spur_oneforme & gobble master. I came back to the truck to find another car parked next to my truck on private land. (this property borders state land). An elder hunter came out from the direction I came from, and I think he was trying to move in when I shot the bird. Come to find out, the other hunter he was with, went to where spur_oneforme was set up, and put a decoy out just 25 yards in front of him, despite spur_oneforme announcing that he was set up there (with decoys out). Total slob jerk. This happened all the while the bird were hammering on the roost. spur_oneforme & gobble master did manage to work some birds, but ran out of time before work.

Great hunt, but lousy run in with slob hunters

15lbs 2oz, 8" Beard, 11/16" spurs

Total Score=44.8750
