HECK YEAH that' s a trophy! That is one great bird for any hunter, especially a first bird!!
As for the record books, your bird scores 74 points on the NWTF scoring system. The system works like this....
Score = [weight] + [2XLength of Beard] + [10X Right Spur length + Left Spur Length]
The top eastern wild turkey scored a 104.81 and the 20th is 83.375.
To me any wild animal taken in the field is a trophy. I cherrish each hunt, animal and the memory. Congrat' s on your first bird!!!

That is a great turkey!! BUT I have a concern---Turkey season was not open in Alabama last month or the month before. Fall season ended on Jaunary 1 for the 6 counties that have a Fall season---and the spring season did not open until today---March 15th. Now---when and where did you get that bird?
