RE: Eye glass wearers..............
I' ve always wondered on ways on how to get your glasses NOT to fog up. Where I work I have to take the trash out. Since its been cold, when I go back in my glasses fog up. I wipe them off with a towel and they fog right back up when I put them back on....GRRR[:@]!! I tried something one night, I came in and they fogged up so I cleaned the glasses using the old way of putting one of the lenses in your mouth and breathing on it and then doing the same to the other lense. This seemed to work for me, you might have to do that a couple times to clear the lenses up!! I might start experimenting with some of these other methods of getting rid of that darn old fog up!!
I also had that problem while turkey hunting last season. I was wearing one of those mosquito nets for you head. I didn' t get as much fog as I do when I work, but I still got some fog. I went out and bought a new camo face mask to try this season, hope I dont get fogged up. I think they should look into making a pair of glasses that can " defog" themselves. For example..you know that wonderful " Rear Defog" for your car....well they should make glasses that can " Defog" themselves with a simple push of a button or flip of a switch!!!! LOL!!! :D:D Outlaw |

Another thing that works is to pull your mess face mask over your glass and then cut a hole it the mask for your mouth. So when you breath the moisture goes out the hole instead of into the mask.

Paul, I ain' t found nuttin that will keep my glasses from foggin when wearing a full or even a 3/4 mask. I use the 1/2 mask from spando-flage, and keep it below my nose. even then I have problems sometime.

RE: Eye glass wearers..............
Maytom; I was just prescribed glasses a few weeks ago for a stigmatizim and my long distance vision and I have had a terrible time getting used to wearing and shooting my bow while wearing them. The trial pair of contacts they ordered for me didnt seem to work on my dominent eye so for now its glasses.
I bought from the eyeglass shop a bottle of anti static anti fog spray called shineize and it didnt work worth a hoot. I attended the Illinois Deer and Turkey Classic and came across a booth selling a product for Anti Fog spray glasses and scopes, the gentleman cleaned my glasses with the spray and then held them over the humidifier and the lenses didnt fog up at all, now being the skeptic I am I didnt buy any and I moved onto other booths. 3 hours later I returned to his booth and held my glasses over the humidifier to see if the product was still working after 3 hours, and to my suprise they still didnt fog up, so I bought a big ole bottle. And I have been using it on a daily basis since I bought it and I am very pleased with it.;) Its called BUMPA' S BLUE MAGIK ( Anti Fog for use on glass and plastic lenses ) On the bottle It says made in Wisconsin # 1-800-452-6088 Ive also been told that rain -ex works well but havent tried it yet. |

RE: Eye glass wearers..............
Maytom; I have to tell you that after reading the post about the shaving cream I talked to another lady hunter friend of mine and she also swears by the shaving cream, so I tried an experiment with it.
I used the BARBASOL WITH SOOTHING ALOE SHAVING CREAM ( ITS WHAT THE HUBBY HAD IN THE BATHROOM ) and I applied it to my eye glasses. I then rinsed it off in water and dried with a toilet tissue and then attempted to fog them up and IT DIDNT WORK , the glasses fogged right up . So then I tried applying the cream and then just wiped the glasses clean with a toilet tissue ( no rinsing in water )and IT DIDNT WORK AGAIN, the glasses fogged right up again. So then I applied the cream to the glass mirror above the bathroom sink and then just wiped it clean with some toilet tissue and then attempted to fog up the glass, well this time IT WORKED! Where I had applied the cream it didnt fog at all and that was this morning and I just tried to fog it up again at 11:00pm it still didnt fog.I figured it didnt work on my glasses cause they are a TYPE OF PLASTIC BLEND LENSE AND THE MIRROR WAS GLASS? This maybe the reason the cream didnt work on my glasses. [:-] Who knows?;) |
RE: Eye glass wearers..............
FYI...many of the common anti-fog products are ethylene glycol & alcohol mixture. The alcohol evaporates, leaving a thin film of what is essentially radiator coolant.
