Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Finally!

Well I finally got a little good luck in NY. After not having any luck the few days I've been able to hunt I got one Saturday and then promptly got another one sunday, when it rains it pours I guess haha

The first bird - 9.5 inch beard, 1 inch spurs, didn't have a scale to weigh him though...

My father and I with the first bird...

The second bird - 9 inch beard (but thicker then the first bird), 1 inch spurs, and again I didn't have a way to weigh it, although he was an absolute brute, had to have been over 20 lbs

Thanks it really is a beautiful spot. Its a 160 arce horse farm in Gardiner NY, my father shoes a bunch of the horses there and the owner lets us hunt. Problem is the owner just sold it so we aren't sure if the new owners will let us continue hunting. Havent met them yet but heard they are super liberal animal lovers, so things aren't looking too good. That part of NY is so beautiful but it is getting filled up fast. People from the city keep moving in at an alarming rate, all the old farms are turning into subdivisions...breaks my heart. There are deer and turkeys all over the place but most of the time you can't hunt them since they are on people's back yards.

Nice birds! I wish I was still out there chasing them. 1 week a year just isn't enough!
