Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default RE: Which choke and load combos work good with Remington 870?

Buy a Rhino .660 and shoot either Winchester Supreme 3.5' #6. Or even better, order the Rhino choke and custom shells from nitrocompany.com. Nitro Ray will set you up with the best load and choke setup for your gun.

i have the 870 express mag with camo stock and forearm and a 21 inch barrel...came with an extended extra full turkey choke...first shells i tried were remington nitro buffered magnums 1 5/8 oz load of #4i believe maybe 7/8.. iwill look when im home if i remember..worked GREAT..at 20 yards i messed up a paper plate really bad...went to 35 yds and it opend a tiny bit but still way more than enough to take a turkey...if i drew a head and neck on the plates thered be atleast 12 kill shots easy in the vertebra and head at 35..the loads arent the expensive ones..they are i na box of 25..i think they are like 15 bucks..but if they dont work good for you thats a decint bit of money to be out.maybe get a friend to buy half and split the cost...they work well in alot of our guns me and my dad used throught the years....your gun might not luck them though.thats the thing about shotguns...one load might shoot great in one gun and crap in the same model gun...good luck

If you have the money go out and buy your self a Rem super full choke and some Winchester HV #5' s. Or you can try the Remington Ventilator choke with the same shells...

Kick' s Gobblin' Thunder choke in .665 and Win. HV #5' s work great in my 870 w/ a 21" barrel. The choke is a bit pricey @ $60 or so but worth every penny of it in the long run.

I Use a Remington 870 express with a undertaker Choke and 3 In. Remington Mitro Mag. Shells #4' s and at 40 yards it will put 6 to 8 pellets in the head and 6 to 10 pellets in the neck.
