I posted this on another forum but didnt get much response. Just wondering if anyone has ever seen one like this before. It also had blonde feathers on the bottom of its wings. I shot it yesterdayin Perry County on gamelands. Thanks

my brother-in-law's first bird had a blonde tipped beard, but i think that was beard-rot when that looks like someone dipped the beard in blonde hair dye, nice bird!

According to some authors, the tip of the beard on juvenile gobblers (jakes) may be amber (reddish orange) in color but this color disappears as the beard grows and the tip is worn off. The normal dark color of a gobbler’s beard is caused by a dark pigment called melanin

Seen many a dead gobbler with beard rot, but none with colors like that!

Kinda looks like beard rot, that's caused from mites eating on the beard.. Some birds get mites and they will chew a beard up.. I shot a large tom this year and it only had an 8 inch beard but had beard rot that looked similar to that..

Nice bird anyway, it's a fairly common thing..
