Just wondered how the rest of you PA guys did today. I had one of those days where whatever could possibly go wrong went wrong. But I'll get out tomorrow morning and hopefully find a bird for monday.

My best friend and I got skunked by a jake up in Erie County opening day!
I work all weekend so I wont be able to get out to find another bird but have a few spots picked out prior to season so that is no big deal! Good luck to you monday!

Had one gobble in the tree early to a tree yelp. Then the hens started going crazy and he shut up once they were all on the ground. I think they all went the other way. I guess I didn't sound sexy enough.

stayed outta my better spots figuring they would be packed...
went to a spot i knew wouldnt have anyone...its hit or miss though wether or not they roost there...they didnt...did hear one a lonnnng ways off...he shut up and i couldnt determine if he was on the posted land or not..
went down the road..hit the crow call and one hammered..must seen or heard me i couldnt get a peep outta him after i setup...
3rd spot buddy said he sees one strutting there every morning...sat there till almost 10 calling off and on...not a peep...except a hen...she came within 30yds just over the hill..she talked to me for a while...ran the ridge out trying to locate one...no such luck...
maybe heading out in the morning...gotta see what the weathers doing...if its nasty im stayin in bed...gas is too high and my hunting spot is too far to drive to for a crappy hunt...cold wet and wind is generally a recipe for a crappy hunt...though ive seen the opposite...tomorrows forcast looks ugly...seasons young, but i dont know how much hunt time i will get after this week..might head out either way tomorrow...

Hunted this morning, got nothing but wet. Started along a field edge, heard a bird and decided to more on him. Well it was raining hard enough that when i got in the woods i couldn't hear a thing! On the way to my next spot I found 4 longbeard in a field that i can hunt once the creeks go down and i can get to it. So gonna head out tonite and see if those birds are around. May put the chest waiders on in the morning and forge the creek.
