Tom down on opening day
Sunday night I went to our property and roosted a couple gobblers and planned on setting up in a field just up above them about 150yds away.Opening morning I got to my spot at 6:00a.m. and hit the owl hooter and there were gobbles coming from everywhere. I heard between 8 - 10 different gobblers including the ones that I had roosted the night before. I put the decoys out and setup 20 yds off of the tree line. At around 7:15 it seemed like they just shut down. A hen had cut me off and now the toms are following her through the tree line. I started calling louder trying toaggravate the hen which ended up working. Every time I would call she would answer me. She ended up bringing the three toms in to 35yds and I took the shot. It was an awesome morning! I'll be back out this weekend to try to take my first with the bow.
