What gives you the greatest thrill?

For me everything about turkey hunting is a thrill. From the first sign of spring, up to the point of throwing him over my shoulder and heading back to camp. Watching a gobbler' s head change through our country' s colors to hearing that first morning gobble or to have that unexpected gobble bust out 50 yards away! Man, you gotta love it!
What really gets the hairs on my neck to dance is when I' ve got a full strutting gobbler within sight and he' s gobbling his head off right at me as he' s zig zagging into my calls! Now that' s a thrill
What is it for you?

Yep, you nailed that one right on the head with me as well!! It' s the silence, then all of a sudden a huge gobble just out of sight!! Talk about getting the heart pumping or what!! I sure hope that feeling never dies!!

I guess i feel kinda like ol Maytom. Just sitting there in the spring woods just soaking it all up, anticipating that gobbler coming in and then all of a sudden one goes off 100 yards away!!!!!

What I really like is when the gobbler is coming in gobbling in the woods his gobbles reverberate off the trees...Sometimes when they' re in pasture or fields the sound is not near what it is in the woods. I' ve had them in shooting distance and see the neck stretch out in the other direction and barely hear the gobble when out in open. Still good but like to hear that rumble.

Can' t add much more. You guys all hit it on the head. Also when the longbeard is really close and you can hear the gargle in his gobble. Man that goes right thru you and it raises the hair on the neck!

Just before the shot! Both times last year as the Jake was gobbling, or the Tom was struttin, the world was silent, my heart was beating and everything was focused on the Bird! Seconds later both were trophies!
