Mossberg 500 (named " Lucky" )
12ga With 3" remington hevi-shot and a new extra full choke. Just now got passable accuracy (5 head hits) at 40 yards! Hot diggity dog, that' s all I was asking for!
Haven' t killed a turkey with it yet, but it has taken many squirrels, a rabbit or two, a bobcat and a spike buck.
I used to use my step father' s 12ga remington 870 express magnum with a remington turkey choke and #4 winchester 3" shells. I killed about 4 turkeys with it. But it wouldn' t kill one past 28 yards or so.
My other 12ga is a 2-3/4" western field bolt action. (named " Old Unreliable" )
It has a fixed full choke. When it worked it patterned good but a foot low and to the right. I had a 10 yard shot on a turkey with it once but passed on it because of the bush in the way. As the name implies, it doesn' t work anymore. I never killed a turkey with it, but I did get alot of crows, squirrels, and one big doe with it.

RE: Name your turkey gun.
ive shot mossberg 500s and 835s..have a 500 for a brush shotgun...never got a great pattern with any of them..but really didnt test chokes and shot..shot a few diffrent shells in diffrent sizes and that was about it....none really impressed me...ive shot a few remingtons and i like the feel much more..action is alot nicer...and they all patterned decint...i also shot a benelli sbe but it was at clays..i cant say much for pattern..but its busted clays...but then again me and my 500 were knowns to fold birds and disinegrate clays...the SBE is a pretty light gun too..ive handeld probally close to 20 mossbergs...and all can double as a boat anchor...although my friend had a remington 870 28 inch barrel 3 inch mag just like my 500...both could been boat anchors..my turkey gun now is a remington 870 express mag...made for 3 inch mags...tiny 21 inch barrel...camo stock and forearm but all metal is matte..weighs near nothing...have a xtra full extended remington choke in it that came with it...first shell i tried was a remington nitro 3 inch mag... 1 5/8 oz bufferd #4...man that thing throws a pattern and a half...i really dont want much more tighter for turkey hunting...at 15yds id be willing to bet its devistating and a head might dissappear...i shot paper plates and tore the crap out of the 15yd target...25 still tight..perfect at that range...35 still nice and tight..no holes in the pattern or anything...i think i got lucky and got a perfect combination on the first try...i havent botherd to try anything else....
