Default Primos Real Wing and The Wing Thing ?

How many here carry these type of calls to imitate a flydown or a fight. And have you had success with them.Seems like a good idea,as I have seen gobblers go absolutely crazy gobbling when a bird flys down out of the roost.

I use one & they can work....depends on a lot of things just like anything else. nothing is a sure bet but I do like to use one & have turkeys to gobble at the sound of the wing when they wouldn't answer a call.

Preston Pittman, makes what he calls a "Flydown Flapper". Basically it's a piece of camo material with wooden dowels sewn in at both ends. Your grab it by the wooden dowels and snap it apart. Sounds just like a turkey flying down or up!! It rolls up and takes up very litle space in your turkey vest!!! I believe they sell it for $4.95 in Wing Supply or Midwest as well. More durable than actual turky feathers in my opinion. Try one out and see!!

Thanks for the input fellas!Really the reason I ask is I like GC's idea of the silent treatment on those high pressured gobblers.Just seems like something else that would work on those call shy toms.I've been fortunate to witness many gobbler fights and the wings flapping and beating going on when a couple of gobblers or more lock up make quite a racket. My wife and I watched at least 13 toms square off in one bunch some years back and they made enough noise to spook even us!!

I have made my own using five primary feathers glued into a handle I cut out of some 1x pine. i have used it to immitate a fight very effectively. I also use it to make movement sounds while giving soft tree yelps. An early fly down and some soft calls have pulled a wary hened up gobbler to my shooter before all his girls had joined him on the ground. I think they are another tool worth the effort to carry.
