RE: Who uses 2 3/4"?
The first box of turkey loads I bought were 2 3/4" (Win. Supreme #4). You couldn't have made the gobblers any more dead with a 3" or 3.5" shell. Check your pattern and make your shots 40yds or less, and we'll see you smiling behind the fan of a nice longbeaard.
Good Luck this spring.... |
RE: Who uses 2 3/4"?
The dreaded 1100 with the 2 3/4". samething i use.
Here is a senario for ya. two hunters, one 1100 and one mossberg turkey edition. Two longbeards and 11 yards. But only one bird hgit the ground. mne with my 1100. the other guy didn't pattern his gun. he didn't realize his pattern would be that tight. Any gun is sutible as long as you know your particlulars. max.distance, pattern. so on |
RE: Who uses 2 3/4"?

RE: Who uses 2 3/4"?
ORIGINAL: Turkey Fife Who uses 2 3/4"? .......Girls????? Just Kidding I couldn't resist.:D Hey i can kinda agree with you. My GIRLfriend uses that and she is twice the hunter that some are. I dont use 2 3/4" but for those who do theres nothing wrong with it. Its about getting the best pattern. There aint no competition when it comes to what "kicks" the hardest. To answer the main question, I used it one time, but actually wasnt a turkey load. Just a basic Remington 2 3/4" game load. Knocked a turkey down at 25 yards with the good ol' NEF single shot 12ga. I wouldnt recommend that (game load) by any means, but just mentioning that it can do the trick. |
