I think the best chance to get a bird is to roost them in the evening if possible. When scouting always look for scratching, feathers, droppings around trees which may indicate a roosting spot. Get set up way before daylight and be ready when you hear them gobble. When they are mating they are most vulnerable so if I were you I wouldn't worry about making mistakes with your calls. I have heard some nasty sounding turkeys gobble, cluck and chirp. Whenever you start to call don't stop if you think you've made a mistake. Be sure to use a good set of decoys and start your calling softly just before daylight. Rememberwhat was saidin another post, minimalmovement is the key.
Good luck to you and keep us informed.
