Default Check out my jake decoy....

Someone had posted about a week ago about covering an old decoy with the hide from a turkey, Well, I was right in the middle of my own project, making a jake strutter for a decoy. But I didn't want to post some pics untill I got most of it done, Also gonna make a hen, probably starting tomorrow. He's not dry yet, gotta do alot of grooming on him still, and also working on schingleing the back feathers more. So what do you guys think? Think he'll get some dominate tom all riled up with a hen along side? check his head out, It's an artifical head, and I painted it myself. Hope ya like the pics.

I made the tail so you can remove it during transport, and then stick it in him once he's set up.

That paint job is about as real as it gets. You could even stand to go a little whiter if you wanted to. I saw some toms a couple of days ago and their heads were almost totally white. Looked wierd. Granted, they were gobbling at anything and everything too. They were hot.

I've got one on my property that I've hunted for 3 years, every year, he sees my blind, or my hen decoy, and he turns and runs. I don't know if he's been educated or not, but I do know he is hard to get. This guy, along with the hen I'm gonna do tomorrow, hopefully will enrage him enough to come in and do some damage to the jake. Then he's gonna be mine!
