don't know the reason for the price jump.
The conflict in Iraq, at least that's the excuse dealers are telling me. BTW, 870 SPS-T 3 1/2" thumbhole. It's a helluva gun.

How do ya'll think an 11-87 Sportsman with a turkey choke would perform?

Probably just fine. I'd pick up a choke or two, some different loads, and see how it patterns.

Remington 11-87, Browning BPS. For a light weight run-n-gun turkey blaster, I really like my T/C Encore.

There are several good ones. I use a Remington 870 and love it. Very reliable gun and is the true workhorse of the shotgun community.

Any comments on a REM 1100?

It was a hand me down. I'd prefer not having to buy another one.

Rem 1100 is a great gun as well and you can't be a free gun. You may want to invest in a good turkey choke tube and buy you a box of turkey load shells and go pattern it.
