I only hunt May in Wisc.....look at this way - there are great birds still around and all the stoopid ones have been shot!

When I used to hunt Wisconsin....I would apply for forth season, which I believe is the first week in May. I always had very very good luck in the later seasons.....less hens to contest with.

i havn't had good luck. First period snowed last year. They were all in flocks still. I should have shot one, I had 2 chances. Then 6th period, them damn birds.............

April 30th to May 4th this year. This is my usuall season and very successful.

Buds also called in one each too.
