Today I got a Primos Freak and an Ol Yeller. Both sound pretty good. I can't wait to test them out on the good ol turks come April 5th. I was just kinda excited and figured I'd share. Do yall have either of them? I know a few have the Ol Yeller, but what about the Freak?

I have both of them. I used the Ol' Yeller for the first time last season and really liked it. It is a very versatile call and easy to use and maintain. I just got the Freak a month ago and am really impressed. I can't wait to try it this spring. The call is also versatile and should be a great closing call for us mouth calling impaired <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Fro, I just bought the ole yellow also. it's got a good sound, and is supposed to be one of the most user friendly slates on the market.
I like the hickory striker on it, but I'm goin to get a purple heart striker, which everbody really brags on. that freak ought to be good also, I like the idea of strapin it to your leg, so you don't have to use but one hand.[;(]

i have the old yeller too...i like it alot..i hate the strikers that came with it though...i did call in a few birds with them last year..but they always ended up sounding like crap in a hurry..maybe its just that frictionite surface...i made some black walnut strikers and they really sing..

The Ole Yeller has got to be the no brainer of turkey calls as it's so easy to produce turkey sounds but to take it one step further....I've don't ever see contestants using them in a calling championships...good sound, yes..and very easily done, a great call for many....don't exclude others like River Valley or Quaker Boy to bring a little more realism into that old BossTom.
