Default Choke Tube Decision

I want to get a new choke tube for this season but I can't decide on either the Kicks Gobblin Thunder or Carlsons Ported Turkey Choke. Anyone have views towards either? Also, the Kicks comes in two diameters .655 and .665 which would give me the tighter pattern .655 right? So wouldn't that be a better choke to go with? Thanks.

It depends on what your gun likes. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but that's the reality of it. If you get the tighter choke you run the risk of blowing your pattern. What kind of gun do you have? Give us all of your information and we'll be more than happy to help out. Simp

I am very happy with my Kicks choke tubes. I have the buck kicker and the gobblin thunder.

I have a stoeger m2000 12ga. Last year I used the factory turkey choke that came with it and it patterned o.k. about 10 to 12 pellets in the spine each shot on paper. But I want something that will double that. To quote a phrase "I'm lookin to blow it's head off."

I have a stoerer as well, and I have had good results with Kicks Gobblin(.665) Thunder and Winchester HV #5's. Choke tube selection is actually pretty gun specific. You can get a good place to start from recomendations, but shooting different chokes and different loads is the only way to really find out the best choke/shell combo for your gun.
