Default Poll on Magic Hour

That you killed the bird.

I am not authorized to do a nice Poll where ya can vote but all of so far have gotten the jist of what i was trying to do.

this is what I wanted to set-up

1. Flydown
2. early Morning up to 8 am
3. late morning up to Noon
4. Noon
5. early afternoon
6 late afternoon
7. supper
8 right before fly-up (in states that allow this)

So those are your choices

First thing in the morning...the birds are hot and heavy, but it doesn't last long where I hunt. I have had more success in the evening time than any other time. There isn't near as much gobbling, but I have taken more birds in the evening than in the morning...

I think that first hour when from they pitch off the roost in the morning is the power hour. I know a lot of people, experts and otherwise, talk about having the most success later in the morning like 10 - 12, but to be honest i usually don't have much luck after 9 am. In the Fall i usually don't even hunt in the morning, i go to a likely roost sight an hour or two before sun down and ambush them like i was deer hunting.

Morning, set up not under their roost, since they'll fly almost 75 yards, out of range, but about 50 yards from the roost, let them fly down, and start calling, and they'llcome to you, (you hope, lol).

I like it when they're all gobbling, more fun that way.

Have had my best luck with a few exceptions between 10AM-1PM, and if I would keep me cool more often I would have had even more success during this time me thinks!

JW, I know it isn't one of the choices but my best time has been when they decide they are going to cooperate with me! lol
