RE: turkey skinz for decoys
ORIGINAL: OKbowhunter20 They look pretty cool but im kinda sceptical about their durability as well, not only the rain, but normal wear and tear...getting tossed around in the back of the truck and such My thoughts were to make sure they're completely dry, roll them up, and then stick them in the leg of apair of mama's old stockings to keep the feathers laid down. It's the same tip that any knowledgable taxedermist will give you in preparingany turkey to be mounted. |
RE: turkey skinz for decoys
LOL well i didnt really mean "tossing" them around:D...i was just implying that i wasn't sure how real turkey feathers would hold up when they are getting handled all the time

RE: turkey skinz for decoys
I've got two turkey wings that have traveled many a mile in the back of my vest over the last several years and are still in good condition, so if they can meet that in duarability, I think they will be fine.

RE: turkey skinz for decoys
I've seen those turkey skins... it doesn't look worth the price. Also, I don't know how good it would do with the elements. I did see those pretty boy decoys. I think that'll be on the way soon.
