One cool thing that they do as well is they have several calls out on a table that you can play with and try out before you buy.
"Excuse me sir, but when you're done with that mouth call may I try it"? :D

Just kidding! That is a good idea though! I'll be interested in seeing if the Cabelas that we go to does the same thing.

Great, what's next? AIDS testing at Cabela's, andif you want to see other unexplained wonders occur in society that hold no benefit to sane people, vote for Hillary Clinton '08.

Nah, really it is cool that Cabela's lets you use slate and box calls, that way you can pick the best sound, instead of having to judge sound by reading the label.

Yeah I saw that too when I was there. Asked what was up and they told me they didn't have any plans on getting in more turkey stuff. They said there's not enough turkeys in the NE states to justify stocking all the stuff they carry.

Just kidding bud I’m sure they stock pretty good within the next month or so.

LOL! Yup, no turkeys around here ;)

You all are "LUCKY" No Cabelas down here (Fl) only Bass pro and that is an hour and half away. The only thing in Central Fl is Dick's Sporting Goods. Not all that great and to expensive. At leat for the camo clothing.

That made me laugh and I didn't think of that when I posted:D. Last time I was there I got to try a couple box calls and some slate calls. They even several nicer, more expensive calls out to play with. My wife even played with them for a minute......then she went and looked at the clothing / jewelery. I don't know if they do it every year, but this past year they did...

I've only been to one. There's one in Hamburg, Pa., about 80 miles or so from where I live, and you'd need a couple of days just to look at everything. I told myself before we went that I was going to be "in and out" with what I needed........WRONG!:DWe got there at noon and didn't leave until almost 4 and still didn't see 1/2 of the store.
I understand that the Hamburg store is one of the largest stores they have. It is probably the closest one to Vt and I have to make the trip some weekend to see it. The Wheeling WV store is pretty good and has an awesome deer display room full of full sized mounts in natural settings.

Yeah, the Hamburg store is just huge. They also have a room dedicated to Whitetail deer mounts. Full body mounts as well as shoulder mounts. You'll see some racks there that'll drop your jaw! They have a mountain in the middle of the store with a running stream full of fish! The mountain has several full body mounted animals around it as well as several "scenes", like two grizzly bears snarling at each other with a full body mounted moose laying in between them, as if he were dead. They have African animals as well. Full body mounted Elephant comes to mind as well as lions and other deer like game. It's amazing really.

I've been to Hamburg storeseveral times on my way to back home & to our WV camp. It's nice ;) You should plan a trip to theHarrisburg Show and on your way back, stop by andcheck out Cabela's.

Ihad plans of a road trip with a few guys from my NH forum to Harrisburg Show this year that had never been to it before.Trouble is that my wabbit hunting trip won't allow for it to happen. Maybe next year ;)

Never been to a Cabelas. I will have to try the one in Harrisburg when I go down to PA to visit my Mom. We have a Bass Pro about a half hour away (Auburn). I love that store. I have been to the Gander Mt in Rochester. It totally stinks compared to Bass Pro. Are all of the Gander Mts like this? It was more like a K-Mart than a sporting goods store. Whenever possible, I try to patronize the local gun shop in town, but they will never have the selection that the big boys have. Pam is always willing to order whatever you need, though.
