For $189 you can buy a brand new Mossberg 500 or NEF makes their Pardner Pump for about the same price or a little cheaper. For an extra $100 you can get the mossy combo. I've shot a single shot with slug loads and it made my shoulder into ground beef.

If you can swing it I to would recommend the Mossberg 500 pump...Tough gun for the money!!!

With a choice in Single Shots I prefer the H&R over the Rossi...I think they are a better built gun and are priced about the same...You may want to find out what choke tubes the Rossi is threaded for so you are sureyou can get an after market choke tube for it in case the factory choke doesn'tperform well, which can happen.
