Just curious, but I was wondering how long some of you other hunters spring turkey seasons are this year. Here in Missouri, our season runs for 3 weeks, opening in late April. Our bag limit is 2 birds total, only 1 can be killed the 1st week, and 1 per day the last 2 weeks for a total of 2 bearded birds per hunter. Kind of wondering how our season stacks up against others.

While it will vary some from region to region, the overwhelming part of Texas will have a season from 1st part of April to mid May, for a total of about 6 wks. 4 turkeys combined fall and spring, gobblers only in spring.

New York is May 1st to 31st. Dawn until noon. Bearded birds only, 1 tom a day, 2 toms total.

April 15 to May 31 with a two tom limit in the spring and a limited # of tags in the fall for an extra bird. First come ,first served on the fall tags until they reach thier quota .

Virginia is April 12 to May 17. 30 minutes before sunrise until noon. 3 birds total combined with the 2002 fall hunt.

For the majority of Alabama the season runs March 15th thru April 30th. Six counties have a Fall season. Gobblers only. One a day. Five a year. No decoys.

Minnesota is broken into 8 different 5 day hunting periods that run continuos April 16 thru May 25. Can apply for only 1 of those time periods.The state is also broken into 53 different hunting land zones.Can only apply for 1 of those zones.Over 30000 hunters will apply for 25016 tags available. Not every one will get a tag. Limit is 1 bearded bird in the spring.

Wisconsin is 6 different 5 day seasons.43 different zones.Only if they have more tags than applicants can you get more than one tag.

Nebraska has an archery season of around March 24 - May 18 and two shotgun seasons April 12-20 and April 21 - May 18. Similar to our archery deer season but backwards, you can start off the season in full winter gear and end with a sun tan and heat stroke. I tend to hunt archery and early shotgun and leave the late season to the crowds and TICKS!!!

ILL has 5 seasons averaging 5-7 days running from early april till mid may you can get as many as three tags if you keep applying for different seasons in different places depends on the number of applicants for that season and county. they do put the tags still available on there web site before the last drawing I think it's in feb or march
