Besides turkeys, what have you called in or had pass very close to you while turkey hunting?
For me I've had many deer, small birds, hawks, owls, and squirrels drop by while hunting. The only animal I actually called in was a coyote. The owl was the most awesome because he just glided right over my setup around 8 feet off the ground. Totally silent when they're gliding like that.

I've called in 3 different bobcats when turkey huntin. 2 small
and 1 HUGE cat. I wanted to shoot him so bad! but, if I had,
I wouldn't have gotten that big gobbler that I didn't know was
standing about 100yds out in front of me. he gobbled about 10
minutes after I saw the cat.

Last April I had a mountain lion come in on me when hunting in Keystone South Dakota. We had a stare down at about 75 yards away and then the cat walked the other direction. I squeeled on my diaphram call, and the cat came back. Eventully it decided to run up the side of the mountain. What a sight!

Great post Lefty!!! Over the years I have called up Owl's, two Red Fox, and have heard coyotes off in the distance while walking in some mornings. The two fox aren't looking for anymore turkeys!!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I have had squirles and racoons come right up to me and caterpillars drop on my head but I don't think any of them came to the calls. Unfortunately, I have called in a couple of hunters in the spring that I know came to the calls (I wonder what they were going to do with that hen hen when they found her since they were not in season).
