Indoor Turkey Hunt
Okay, so my 2 year old Xander is not feeling well today and being the cool dad that I am (sometimes), I opted to stay home with him. Well, since we have spent quite a bit of time downstairs in the den and my office right next to it, he wanted to watch a few hunting DVD's and see daddy's guns.
Well, as fate would have it, he saw my "el cheapo" turkey decoys. He ran into the den and got one of his toy guns and shot it. Hmm? The gears started turning. An indoor turkey hunt was to be planned. So, we placed the decoys all around the downstairs of the house and the hunt was on!
Here's his "first ever" turkey!
He's feeling much better now to say the least and we've laughed like I haven't laughed in a long time.
Just had to share!

If we don't do things with our kids, who will? I didn't grow up in a home where "dad" was around to show me things, other than a belt and how drunk he was. I didn't get into hunting until last year when I turned 33. If I would have had someone show me this years ago, there would be no doubt that I would have been doing it all my life. I promised myself this a long time ago - I won't be like my biological father.
