Hey my brother talked me out of buying an 835. He told me the were real heavy and kicked real bad. Do any of you all have a 500. I was looking at the 12 ga. Pump Action, Woodlands Camo finish, synthetic stock, Ported 24" VR Accu-Choke barrel w/ XX-Full Turkey choke tube and Fiber Optic sights. Sounds like a good gun to me. if ya have one could ya tell me how they pattern, how far they can reach, and if you have had any problems with them. Thanks.

I have a 1989 model 500 Field Grade...28" vent-rib, Accu-Choke, wood and blued. It and I have been through alot together....doves, grouse, rabbits, squirrels, deer......and I wouldn't trade it for any other.

I have a model 500 turkey gun. I dont have any complaints.
I killed two turkeys with it last year. The farthest was
about 50 yards. (I thought he was 40 or less).
Anyway, its a good gun, light and easy to shoot & patterns
well.

I have the 500 in woodland camo as well. It has killed deer and turkey for me and patterens with a undertaker choke. Ive had good results with #6 hi v winchesters and #4 federals. Although the gun is no bretta or browning its a true work horse and gets the job done well.Good hunting with it.
