Spring is coming, thats for sure. I just found a bunch of cheap turkey stuff today on the Wing Supply website that I just had to have <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>.
Grouse drumming is one of my favorite things about spring too (the drumming is much more pleasant than the sound they make when you're hunting them and they rocket out from under your feet, my Dad calls them "feathered jets"
. They remain one of my favorite things to hunt in the fall.
My five favorite spring "things" would be, in order:
1) Turkeys (duh)
2) Morel mushrooms
3) pre-spawn channel catfish
4) blooming Dogwoods
5) emerging Mayapples
I'm fond of saying things like, "...as a hunter, I could skip the Winter and Summer seasons...", but you know, if we didn't have to wait for the gobbling turkeys of spring and the rutting bucks of fall, I don't think we'd apprecicate them as much.

Great post and pics Mike!Love the seasons, been in the duck and goose blind since Oct,turkeys be gobblin in a couple months and the carp will be feelin the tip of my muzzy's!Summer brings out my night fishin equipment and a trip or two to the high desert of Lassen county for cottontails!Fall brings out the 870 again for upland birds and the anticipation of the fall flights of waterfowl making there way down the Pacific Flyway!Thoroughly enjoy all the seasons outdoors, but I will say to take the gobble out of spring would be like a cake without frosting!Come on Spring!!!!!!
