Guys,
I own and run Deep South Outfitters which does spring turkeys both here in Forida and at my camp in Kansas. I also do waterfowl, whitetail and alligators but thats not the topic. I've lived in Florida my whole life and know of every open managment area in the state as well as may be able to point you to some private lands that could interest you. Theres not alot of land owners willing to allow hunters but there is a few. I lease alot of ground in the area I outfitt and there is more farms there that are always tring to get me to lease there ground but I simple don't need it. I would be willing to hook the right person up though.
I do realize that it is rewarding to harvest a bird off public land. I could count on one hand how many I've taken in Florida's public land though. It's tough and with the few places to go, there usually hundreds of othet hunters in and out of there and any good turkey hunter knows what the birds do after that. It can suck.
There a new area just open though that is top knotch. You have to apply for it but its worth it. Anyone who would like to talk can email me or better yet, give me a call and I'll give them some heads up on quality state lands and maybe even some private ground tips.
