RE: multiple bearded birds...

I've shot 4 or 5 double beards and one with four beards... I've seen one five beard and one six bearded bird, plus several triples..One of my buddies shot a triple beard opening day of PA season this spring..

Just as a non-scientific ballpark estimate I'd say that around 5 percent of the gobblers I've taken and seen taken have multiple beards, with doubles being the most common.... I've seen a number of bearded hens over the years, too..

I have been huntin turks since 1990. Having bagged over 60 birds in that time, mostly in Ky, i have yet to kill a multiple bearded bird. Perhaps one of these days!

I hope they are common enough where i have a chance of getting one someday also.I have a turkey hunting video where a guy shot a turkey with 6 beards. Thought that was pretty cool.
