Default Need help

The hens are sitting in my area I think. I see afew hens in the evening and all I see is toms durning the day and morning. They talk all day at you but just won't come in. I would think since the hens are sitting they would come in easy. I had them talking to me all morning and the afternoon the same thing. Any help would help.

I know I will probably get hammered for saying this but I really like to run and gun in the mid morning all the way to mid afternoon, Call loud and hard, cut like crazy and get them going I have shot multiple birds doing this, the hens go to sit and then I either go to where the birds were roosted in the morning and setup camp cause alot of the time the toms will travel back to were they roosted looking for hens that havent been bred and that isa spot they check often times during the day, or I will start running ridge tops or bottoms or something and cut loud and hard eventually you should be able to get one all worked up and he will come, just remember to make it as easy as possible to get to you, let him come up hill, dont make him cross water or fences if possible and setup so you can get a good veiw but maybe even set up your deek behind you so he doesnt hang up or pull the buddy system and have a buddy setup 20 yards behind you and call to make him think you are further than what you really are..Hopefully someone can give you the right stuff, that is all I got and it's probably what every turkey hunter in the world knows..But good luck to ya, and shoot straight..

Find a strut zone and wait em out......or........Toms at this point are on a circuit as they have been following hens. Then hens when bred, drift away from the Tom - find the hens and you'll find the circuit......again it is a waiting game.....I on the other hand kill more birds sitting at this time of the year than running and gunning.....but you got to do your homework and determine those patterns.

I'm in a strut area that they used 3 weeks ago. There is always birds in this area but just won't come in. They talk to me all the time today but would go around me the way it seemed. I wonder if they have been called to many times. Thanks

Another thing to try that I have had luck with at this time of year is to gobble at them. You have to make sure nobody else is hunting the area when you do this but I have had success with it. Good luck!
