i rarely rarely ever see deer in spring gobbler season unless i bump them. funny i deer hunt the same spots....they definently hold deer. i guess i dont really take wind or noise or travel into consideration when turkey hunting...so long as i dont bump the birds.

i like to come across the fawns. i only came across a few when i was young...before digital cameras...(wow! funny to say that..im only 20! lol) but really...i dont think they were around yet lol...

deer hunting i see a heck of alot more turkeys though!!! weather fall archery or rifle hunting or driving them. turkey drive 10000x better than a deer...no wonder its illegal...holy cow we could kill whole flocks if we had the guys..nearly EVERY drive the drivers see turkeys and they run right to the shooters...i guess they dont know much better than to run directly away from danger...

nice pic..thats pretty neat...

You know...now that you mention it...I haven't seen any deer while turkey hunting. I usually see deer all the time while turkey hunting and I haven't seen any this year. Hopefully that's not a sign for next season

I think Im going to use my turkey dekes for deer hunting next year..J/k but now that I think about it deer seem curious about the dekes Ive had deer come up and sniff them then do their little stamp and snort and run around like dorks. One of the funniest things Ive ever seen.

Matt, that's an awesome pic! I'd love to have the full size image of that photo to use as a screen saver... cool!

We have also seen a bunch of deer this Spring in the turkey woods and in fact, we've had more deer walk past the Double Bull blind this Spring than we EVER have during the deer season!
