Check this albino jake out!

This is an albino jake that my friend shot on the second day of indiana's 07 season. 14 lbs 4.5'' beard and 7mm spurs.

WOW .... thats a beautiful bird , is he going to have a full body struting mount done ?
I know I would , there's some of those off color phase birds out where I hunt and with any luck I hope to get one like that.
Tell your friend I said CONGRATS :)

In my area, a farmer's kid had a white domestic hen escape and breed with a wild tom and 3 of the poults grew up to look like that jake. More than likely that happened, but still sweet lookin bird

Yeah.... around here we had a neighbor lose all of the domestic turkeys when a tree knocked the fence down..... must have breeded with the wilds because we see albino toms/jakes/and hens just about every year now. Thats prob what did happen. But it is still an awesome turkey. I would have liked to bag it.

no he said he could not get a full body mount because his shot and the turkey flopping around messed up the feathers too bad.

contrary to popular belief, the turkey might not have any domestic bird in him at all. there are such thing as natural color phase birds. also everyone has to remember, domestic birds have clipped wings. meaning they cant fly up on roost. they wouldnt last long at all in the wild if ther was very many predators around at all. Dont automatically assume your bud killed a domestic bird, it could be a natural color phase.
