Fork Horn
19lbs 11" beard 1"1/4 spurs.
I have been hunting hard for 2 weeks. All I have done is watch a bird fly off the roost and go to his hens. Finally , one day, the bird came into my decoys silently and caught me off guard. He ran and stopped about 50 yrds and I shot and missed. I decided to go to a new piece of property and had a bird gobble a few times but no luck hunting. I went back the next morning and as soon as we got out of the trcuk, we heard a gobble. We ran through some 20 yr old planted pines to a weed field and set the decoys out. The bird wasn't but 1 field over with a wind row through it. We clucked a couple of times with a quick response. I knew that if he didn't have any hens, that he was coming. Sure enough, I looked through a patch of trees seperating the fields, and I could see him coming. He spotted the decoys and started to make a line. A few more clucks and another gobble. He closed teh gap to about 45 yrds. I yelped a couple of times with a few quick clucks and he gobbled and then went into a strut. He went back down into a half strut and flanked the decoys to my left when I had had enough. BOOM!! Turkey hunting is awesome.
