I was wondering how close is to close when it come to sound of a truck spooking a gobbler, sight is no problem because they are on the other side of a ridge but how far away should i stay?? I was thinking mabey 200-300 yards is ok?? thanks for the tip.

RE: how close is too close?
I would say thats about right...

RE: how close is too close?
Just don't get too close...you don't want to take a chance spooking them. I would go the extra distance to make sure I didn't spook them.

RE: how close is too close?
I like to scout from a Good distance 300-400yds away with the truck should be alright.
Get out andwalk a little,Take along your binoc's,But if you know the bird's are in there walkin early before roosting and sit down and listen. Then the next day use the binoc's to locate them on the Roost. As long as you keep a good distance,You should not have a problem with spooking them. I wish you Luck |
RE: how close is too close?
Better a 100 yds to far than one foot too close!

RE: how close is too close?
It's a little different in every situation, but I like to play it safe and be a little further than may be needed.

If you even SUSPECT you may be too close, you are.
