Team 4 "Thunder Chickens"

4th time out this morning. Another longbeard, about 60 yards. My grandpa was on the otherside of the treeline and some birds got out of his view and he thought those were the only ones that roosted there, so he was walking over to me and spooked off the longbeard. Oh well, maybe that bird wasn't gonna come into me anyway. Maybe I needed a decoy. Hopefully tommorow's the day.

Hello all,
I have been out 3 times since the season started last saturday. Every time I am out I hear them gobbling from 6-7:30 and then they are dead the rest of the morning. When they are gobbling they are not responding to the calling. I talked with some hunters today and they were having the same luck. Well hope you all are doing better and I should be back out on saturday.

Well, I'm all done turkey hunting for this spring. I filled anothertag on Saturday morning at 6:35am here in NH by taking my fourth for the season. This guy must have pretty busy with all the ladies seeing he only weighted 16lb
He was sporting a 8-1/2” beard, 13/16" spur and 15/16" spur. Below will be a recap of photos.
Tooky River Calls were reasonable in all four deaths of three mature Toms and one Jake. “The Enticer” took down a WV gobbler, a VT gobbler and a NH gobbler. “The Tominator” took care of his business with the three Jakes running off my Tom a few times. Had an AWESOME season this year and can’t wait for 2008 to roll around. Congratulations to those that have got to fill your tags and for those that are still out there hunting….best of luck to ya

Well boys mark me down fora bird! "Sixth day is the charm" After 3 hours of no gobbles, 10:00 rolled around and things started to pick up. I caught movement about 100 yards away, it turned out to be twotoms. While they were responding to my calls, they were in no hurry to come over to my decoys. It took an easy 20 minutes for them to get intomy comfort zone(30 yards or less). 10:40 a.m. and I just baggedthe first turkey of my career. After using the turkey calculator, I came up with a score of 54.5. Although I've been hunting deer, rabbit and pheasant for 15 years, this is only my second season for turkey.
Official Check station stats:
18.5 lbs
3/4" sprurs
10.5" beard
estimated 3 years old

Sorry guys I hunted my ass off but no bird. The killing frost we had before season shut the birds up completely. I couldn't even buy a gobble or gobbler. I will have to say it's the worst season in several years. Well i tried. Good luck to the rest of you all that are still hunting and congrads. to all that killed birds.
