RE: turkey hunting
I personally have never hunted turkey but, if you take the time, put in the effort, the scouting, practicing of the calls, patterning the birds, the kill won't be hard. It is all the things that lead up to the kill that takes time, that IMO is the hard part.

RE: turkey hunting
It's just another great challenge that makes this type of hunting fun. Even though turkies dont have a sense of smell, there eye sight and hearing is very alert which makes it so you have to be like a ghost in the woods.

RE: turkey hunting
Easy to kill, but the know how is in the finding and calling themclose enough to kill! This is what makes you a turkey hunter and not a turkey shooter!:)

And just when you think you have it all figured out the damn turkey goes the other way!

RE: turkey hunting
It's really not that difficult, but things can happen in the woods that make it difficult to bag one sometimes. If there is a hot gobbler without hens, then he will usually be a pretty easy kill. An old wise gobbler is a tough adversary. Nothing is guaranteed while turkey hunting though. If it were easy every time out, then it would not be fun. So the answer is, it can be easy at times and very difficult at times to bag one. It all depends on what mood the gobbler is in, and more times than not he won't be in the mood to play with you. There are so many variables that can make or break a hunt. This is what makes it so enjoyable and at times frustrating.

RE: turkey hunting
The more you do it the easier it will be to understand the turkey. They can be frustrating and rewarding at the same time. You will learn new things ever time you go out. You will learn the most by your mistakes.
