I was deer hunting a week ago and saw 33 different turkeys cross within 20 yards of my stand. I am new to turkey hunting and am going to try and hunt them this spring. Will these turkeys be in the same area or will they move??

The ones we have usually stay in the same area year round ,so I would imagine they shouldn't be to different where you hunt . What we have are Rio Grande , maybe other species act different that I couldn't say . I'm sure someone here could answer that for you .

They may remain in the area, but you won't see them grouped like that in the spring. They break up and move about trying to get the hens. As the flock grows, they move out from the initial area up to 50 miles a year. So, though not every one of those birds may be there, there should be some huntable birds w/in a mile or so.
