RE: favorite camo?
I use realtree hardwoods & mossy oak breakup early then change over to advantage timber. I tend to like to use a different pattern on my pants & shirt, example is advantage timber for pants while uwearing hardwoods for my top.
I also plan on using the new hardwoods green this spring, looks like a good pattern. I don't think it really matters what pattern you where, juts try to blend in! I have used everything from the early camo patterns to the original treebark, realtree, and mossy oak. they all work fine. |
RE: favorite camo?
Advantage timber,Realtree xtra brown,Realtree hardwoods.
|
RE: favorite camo?
Advantage Timber and Hardwoods.
|
RE: favorite camo?
Beretta I agree, Break-up is a good one!!
GobbCaller, advantage is another great pattern as well as Realtree Exra-Brown!! I know what you mean about the camo wars buddy!! BT, the reason you never see a Mossy Oak is becasue of all that canadian "BUSH" up there!! |
RE: favorite camo?
I wear MossyOak breakup a lot. Mainly because I can afford it from Wal-Mart
I really like the RealTree Hardwoods. Want to buy some NatGear and would really like to be able to afford some of the Predator. I believe that movement is what catches the eye of most everything, hunters included. Most of the modern patterns imitate a pile of sticks and leaves. The Predator goes for an unidentifiable silouette (or, complete silouette breakup) and the NatGear goes for nature's camo, like a deer's hide. How many times has a deer suddenly appeared right out in the open? Romans 8:28 |
RE: favorite camo?
Oh yeah, then there's the new camo for the military. Sort of like random pixels on a computer screen. Check out the article.

RE: favorite camo?
Mine is mossyoak break up and shadow leaf.
|
RE: favorite camo?
I wear all the Mossy Oak patterns. My favorites are Shadow-Leaf and Break-Up. I don't think brand names make much difference, you just develop certain loyalties. I've worn Mossy Oak from the start and I probably always will.

I use Mossy oak, shadows grass and various Real Tree patterns. Anyone see the new Realtree HD patterns? I've only seen them in a catalogue. But they sure look awsome. I think it gets released later this month.

RE: favorite camo?
Just bought a Woolrich Technowool jacket at Dicks ($35 after the clearance, additional sale and coupons--sweet deal) in Realtree Hardwoods.
I like the Realtree Hardwoods pattern for autumn deer hunting, but my favorites for Spring turks are the Mossy Oak Shadowleaf (my vest) and Stealth camo--very green against a pinetree background. Can usually only find the Stealth stuff at a proshop though... Strut |
RE: favorite camo?
Realtree X-tra Brown is the best for me and my area. It works in the timber as well as out in the open.
Movement is the key to good camo, but it doesn't hurt to blend in when that trophy is looking right you. Hopefully if your camo is good enough they won't look at you, but look thru you. |
RE: favorite camo?
mossy oak shadow leaf. just right for spring

RE: favorite camo?
advantage timber all season.

RE: favorite camo?
I've always like the Mossy Oak patterns. I used to have a coat that had green leaves in the pattern, but unfortunately it shrunk in the wash so I bought a new one and went with the break up pattern, which I really like.

RE: favorite camo?
I'll bet that if ol toxy asked you to be a mossy oak pro staffer you would wear it!!!

Remington makes some camo that is realy light. I have a hard time finding it but i love it for the hot days we have here in Mississippi. alot of green is needed here.

RE: favorite camo?
I wear Mossy Oak Breakup for one reason, it has plenty of black in it. This caught my attention after watching some videotape my dad and I took on a couple of days during the season. The days just happened to be overcast and rainy. Dad had on his Realtree camo and so did I. Being it was overcast, the timber had a darker hue to it than normal. Well the brown and tan stood out like a SORE THUMB in the video tape because it did not darken with the weather, not enough black in it. What we thought was a good camo set up with sapplings in front of us wasn't nearly as good as we thought once we watched the video. All camo will work on bright days, but I would highly recommend some sort of pattern with lots of black and darker colors. Try this little experiment on a cloudy day sometime out scouting for toms. Put a Mossy Oak or a camo with lots of black in it, and a camo with lots of tan and brown about 50 yards into the timber and stand back and look at it. You will see what I mean
