2004 Mount is back Finally!
#1
I didn't think I was ever going to get it back. This is the 1st mount I have ever had done and is my best bird to date. Only 21lbs (small for a missouri tom)11 1/4" beard 1 1/2" spurs.
I am happy with how it turned out, but wouldn't take one to this taxidermist again due to the long wait.

Very nice hooks. Is that freeze dried or artificial head? My usual question as I find that is the part on any mount which makes or breaks it. It just seems that even with a real head the painting job is too specific sometimes. What I mean is blue areas are straight blue, red is red, etc. and more on the bright color side most of the time. A real bird has texture and tone, variations in the colour, the small hairs.
It's hard to see from your pic. Looks like it might be a nice job on the head particularily the detail on the back of the neck part.
Be nice to see more pics of heads up close. I have one being done and this was my biggest direction with the taxidermist I chose. His previous work on freeze dried was nice but I always like to see more to compare.
Great work dd.
