Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

7 years and 8 birds. 15 kills when I add hunts that I have taken guys on. Afew misses in there and also been in on hunts where I have just been another guy in the bush with experienced hunters for a few more kills.

I count that pretty lucky for sure. I am fortunate to have a career that affords me the opportunity to hunt almost constantly the whole season. I think my 7 years is more like the average guy around here hunting 20 years. That's why these types of counts can be misleading. I tip my cap to the guy who can get a bird or 2 each year and only hunts a few days a season. It sure makes it easier to fill a tag or 2 when you don't have to worry about getting out of the bush by 8am to get to the office. All day hunting here has helped guys add to thier harvest totals as well.

Hunt turkeys very little but have 4 long beards and 2 or 3 hens during archery season.

I lost count with a gun. Only one with a bow since I started bowhunting them.HCH I shot this one with no blind; just a 3 legged stool and good camo clothing. I even had fake leaves pinned on my clothing and bow.

Only started hunting turks in '98, but have 7 birds down. Just like deer hunting, I don't always take the opportunity to shoot a bird each yr. But with the help of my compadres, I am responsible for many more downed deer and turkey. It is a group effort doing the scouting, setting blinds, and calling for the clients. At this point I get almost as much satisfaction out of seeing a client get a buck or turkey as if I had been doing the shooting myself.

Arrowmaster,

I'm running around looking for messages to post to so I can start meeting folks on this board so here goes,

Been hunting them serious for 5 years,

2002 - 0 turkeys
2003 - 0 turkeys (but my wife got a jake!)
2004 - finally score - 1 in WI, 1 in MI I'm hooked for life...........
2005 - getting better 1 each in WI, MI, IL, OK
2006 - best year yet 1 in WI, 2 in KS, 2 in OK

So I'm up to 11, BUT, more importantly I count how manymornings each spring I'm out there chasing them rather than sitting at the desk. Thats what means the most to me - This year god blessed me with 19 beautiful mornings!

That dude above that got 87 over the years in PA, WV and OH - now thats impressive, hope to get in those ranks some day........

Keep cluckin, purring, yelping, cutting, scratching and never give up!

Good hunting and god bless,
