Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Got one with my new Gun!

I was supposed to be video tapeing myself bow shooting a turkey. But, when I went up north to my buddies farm, I had to stop and pick up a rifle that he was having work done on. While I was waiting, I spotted an 11-87 remington with my name on it. 12 ga, 3 1/2 ". After I set up my blind, I patterned the gun. What a cannon! Anyway, I hunted for a day and a half without any luck, so I decided to relocate. After breakfast 10:00, I went and grabbed my blind and moved it. Well a bow, camera, blind, chair etc. etc....., The bow, camera and trypod was too much for me to carry at once. I decided to take just my new gun and set up the blind, sit out the evening hunt and bring the bow, camera and trypod in the morning. An hour later I heard a gobble about 75 yards to my left. It was just a matter of time before he walked around the hill and spotted my decoys. 20 minutes later I saw him round the hill, spot the decoys and run straight in and stop 28 yards from the blind. The new gun worked great. Dropped him and he never moved 3 feet. 23 pounds, 7/8" spurs and a 10 1/2" beard.

I use a double bull blind. It is great. I also use a piece of outdoor carpet that I put the blind on top of. It keeps the bugs and ticks out and remains dry in the mornings.
