Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Gobbler # 1 (Pictures)

I enjoyed a perfect hunt with my Dad the other day. We couldn't get out in the morning, but went in the afternoon. We sat up his pop-up tent at 4:15, and I shot at 4:52. It was really cool. The hens came in right on our heels. There were 4 hens, that came in from the road, and the gobbler entered from the hardwoods. He seemed to just be checking out the situation. I think he is a 2 year old bird. He has a good 9.75 inch beard, but his spurs are almost completely gone. One was .5 of an inch, and the other just gone! You could tell where it had been, and the spot was jagged, but nothing really to measure. He weighed in at 17.4 lbs. He strutted for us once and Dad said, "Let 'em have it." So I did. This is the first turkey he has ever called in for me. We've called in some together before, but always either he shot, or my little brother shot. It was a great day! A wonderful memory that I'll never forget!

So can I get on a team, or is it too late? If so will this bird count or not?

Thanks,
Trae
