Day 14, Nothing.
#2
Wind can play a big factor dog.......makes the birds nervous as it affects there abilty to hear......so on high wind days i move to field edges and bit openings inthe woods or swamp......someplace the turkey feel comfortable and can see some distance to watch for danger.....
Or if those areas are not possible....i look for the lee side of hills and ridges and do find that the turkeys use this too......
Now we all know they still gotta eat.....
And wind makes it tuff to haer gobbles at long distances......so my calling starts out soft.....but themn I go as loud a s I can........
Yelpers and winbones make great windy day calls......or crankin on a mouth diaphram........
Wind just like a drop in temperature...will affect the bird....
so hang in there....thee will be a point in time...that Whoopbutt will gobble and NO hens will come his way......if you are there...then passing gas sideways and he'll coem a runnin!
hehe
