Just my home state of Iowa this year. I have a two bird limit. There is still a slight chance I may be able to go to Missouri. If I do that would be 2 more birds. Less than four weeks and I'll be hunting! I cant wait!!

I will be hunting Louisiana and probably Tennessee.La. opens this weekend, the 25th. The limit is 2 in La. and 4 in Tenn. The weather in North La. has been horriblethe past few days. Rain, wind, and cool temps have kept the gobblers silent. This weekend is supposed to be nice though, sunny skies and temps in the mid 60's. Looks like a nice opener. Good luck to everyone.

Ok time for a new question. How old is everybody, how long have you been turkey hunting?
I'll be 20 years old in april, I'm married and have no kids. I grew up in northern iowa my whole life. I started turkey hunting in the spring of 2000 and have been obsessed ever since. I found a wife who love to hunt with me. Her favorite "thing" is bowhunting for whitetails like mine is hunting spring turkeys. Last fall I killed my first fall gobbler, which was also my first with a bow. He was a big boy. 1 1/8" spurs 12" beard and 21 lbs. Anyway lets here from everybody else.

I'm 39 and have 27 years of hunting experience. I have been an avid turkey hunter for 25 and have 40+ birds under my belt. Like I always say............ "HI my name is PAT and I am a TURKAHOLIC, but I am on the six step program, six steps from the end of my broadhead"
Jepcho I heard a rumor though that she is a BETTER SHOT than you, is that TRUE?????????????????:D

RE: Team 8 Check-in and Status.....

I turned 50 a couple months ago and been turkey hunting since I was a teenager, I have got to hunt in Mo only, maybe one of these years I will get to go to other states, I don't now how many turkeys I have taken, but the first several years I hunted there was a 1 bird limit in the spring, I don't turkey hunt in the fall, but I love that spring season.

They are selling fast I guess. Hope I have as good of a season as last year when I got a 7.5" bearded hen and a 20 lb tom with a 9.5" beard and 1.5" spurs. Good luck guys

I have killed my two bird limit in Louisiana. A 17 pounder with a 7 inch beard and a 21 pounder with a 10 1/2 beard that scored 59.5. I have also killed a bird in Tenn. that weighed 22 pounds with a 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs that scored 62. I hope to go back to Tenn. in the next couple of weeks. I would sure hate for my season to already be over. By the way, I am 42 years young and have been hunting since I was 6 or 7 years old. I have been a serious turkey hunter for only six years. Wish I would have started earlier, but I consider myself a pretty good turkey hunter. Now I think I love it more than deer and duck hunting. Good luck guys and do team 8 proud.

Well guys, Rob just sent me a PM and I guess you got stuck with me!!

I have 2 tags for Peoria County here in Illinois. Starts the last weekend of April and I go for 2 weekends.

Sorry to say I don't have a whole lot of turkey experience. I have been lucky enough to shoot 1 bird in my 4 years of chasing the turkeys.

But on the brighter side, last year was a good year with out shooting anything. Had a lot more close calls than I had ever had.

I hope I can bring something to the table!!

not much luck for me. not good luck that is.I haveplenty of bad luck. Wednesday They gobbled until they flew down and I never saw one. thursday Iheard them gobbling and they gobbled to my calling but wouldnt come in which seems to be the case with everyone else we know. Friday I set up 75 yards from a roosted bird and set the decoys out and he flew down right under where he was roosted with another gobbler. Then I heard a hen with them but they stayed there and wouldnt come in to me. I tried to circle around them and by the time i got to where they were, they were gone. This morning The turkeys didnt gobble until after flydown. My dad had one at 75 yards and it saw him and ran back into the woods. I saw 3 hens. Still today and tomorrow to hunt. Best of luck to everyone
