Im heresorry I was late. My season here in Ontario starts April 25 till May 31 and I am also in Nebraska May 5th till the 9th for a couple of Merriam's I hope.

Bowhunter... What zone is the north Kettle in........I have tags for 22 and 5.....I will be hunting 5 in time B and Zone 22 for time D.

bumpin this one up a bit fellas...lets keep track of where we all are in our seasons...either the ones going on now or starting up soon...mine starts may 1st....all the snows gone finally...and just on my two scoutin trips i've seen four flocks of twenty birds apiece (give or take a couple)...it looks like a great season in store....i've been hearing them gobbling when i go out to take care of the horses in the mornings..and have glassed them from the roads. remember..'cluck'..'click'....'BOOM' :D

Well Boys, i am headed out tomm to do some scouting and blind building. I am taking along 2 new hunters for the scouting and to get them familar with the gound. WE will probably only take 1 call as to not give the birds any tips on how to aviod us. Just goin out for a hike, scouting and to enjoy the WI spring weather of 55 degree!!!!

team cutting edge is fine with me. Its getting close to season for me. Missouri on their opening day Apr 24th and back home to Indiana on the 26th. then back to Missouri the following week.

Holly and I will be leaving in 2 weeks. Hopefully we can shoot some birds in the midwest. It will be Holly's first turkey hunt ever and her first archery hunt. It should be alot of fun. I will be more nervous then she is. I am hoping to get an eastern this year. Its the only bird I need for my grandslam by bow. Goodluck to all!

I'm in zone 30 for the first week! I can't wait! Then the next week I'm going to my property in Northern Michigan to try for some birds up there. Also to plant about 1000 trees on the property and my uncles!

Ontario opens up April 25 so I've still got a month to wait.

One unresolved problem is that we still have 3 no-shows, it'll be hard to be competetive if all the other teams have2 or 3more birds than us. Ipm'd them on 03/29 with no response, I'm thinking that if they don't come around soon we might want to consider requesting alternates.

Sorry it took so long to check in guys. Been busy at work and out of town all last week. I will be leaving for KS on the 13th. Then back here for PA opener on 29th.

Everything is falling into place, all I need now is for the birds to move 1/2 mile east over the next few weeks. (went scouting last weekend, huge flocks on the neighbours farm, only some sign where I have permission).

Well, tomorrow is opening day here in Oklahoma and I'll be out there. I've been seeing some good flocks on my lease and on some public ground over the last few weeks. I'm heading out this evening to try and roost em. I'll be teaming up with my dad for opening day. I feel pretty confident that we'll get an opportunity. I'll give you an update on Friday.

All I know is Im itching to get out and hunt. Ive been scouting constantly. I just might have to pack up for a few days and head south. This waiting is killin me. Reading all the other posts and checking out pictures of others taking a bird. Ive got the fever real bad. I guess its no different than any other year when season gets this close. MtnGuy75 here.....will be huntin on the Roan Plateau here in NW COlorado chasin Merriams. SSeason Opened the 8th and have just today heard my first gobbles of the year. Hope the weather will clear up and melt some snow to let me in on the good areas. Good luck to all and sorry so late poting :D

Thats all of us, unless Pat updates the teams again we're all here.

I was up at the farm again this weekend, not as much sign as previous years, and I'm having problems with my room-mates who just bought 2 stoke dirt bikes and want to ride all over my hunting grounds (only have 100 acres there), luckily I have permission at another farm 1/2 hr away.

I can't take this waiting, its driving me nuts !

Well i did my scouting last week. We turned up about 6 birds all grouped and heared very little gobbling. Which is good cause my season dont start for another week. But it all usually pops out there this weekend, easter that is so we hope for the best.

THe other tag i got was for up in Zone 22 of WI, but the deal on the land we were closing on is stuck between a rock and a hard place, but lucky my dads unlce who lives up there and owns some land, and usually does not allow hunting, had given us the go ahead. He built a 3 hole golf course on the land and the turkeys come out and eat on his one green every night. So i know where i am headed. He knows the land and the birds as he is an avid bird watcher, so he said he would come along and show me the ropes of his land. I sure am excited!!!! Well I did a bit more scouting tonight and boy did I see some birds! 3 different toms all alone and gobbling like crazy!!! All at about 15 yards and they had no idea I was in their world! Also a flock of about 20 hens with a big ole tom sturttin away! I also had about 35 deer out in the field in front of me! What a great day !

My season opens in the morning and I'll be out all day tomorrow! I wish everyone good luck! I hope I have some!:)

Well, I haven't had the kind of luck that I'd hoped for. So far, I've only been able to hunt a couple of mornings and after the birds hit the ground they shut up. They're all henned up till about 11:00 am and I haven't had time to be out there during the late morning when they're fired up again. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get into some late morning, or afternoon action. Good luck ya'll.

Well Boys its my week.....
My bro came out of surgery and is home and now i can think about huntin. My buddies leave tonight to go out scouting and try and kill thier birds. I am leaving thursday night and hunting all friday sat. and sunday. I would go tonight but i gotta finish the school week. You know the whole grades thing. Well anyways. I am super excited. I have had my turkey call with me all the time praticing and i went out and got this sweet new vest last night from fleet farm. The Lazy Lounger turkey chair from Eastman Outfitters. Expensive, but the thing is awesome, no more finding a comffy tree the thing is a chair that is super nice.

Well anyways, was out scouting in the local woods and called in 2 big toms, but its milwaukee county so no hunting. No kiddin the one bird had a beard touching the grass. Huge, called um into about 15 yards, but i forgot my camera so that was kinda a bust. But i know my calling works!!

Well i will touch base before i leave again.

My buddies who left and hunted wed. and thrs. Both tagged birds. the Newby shot a 13lb jake and his dad shot a 22 lb 10 in.

I'm off tonight, season doesn't open till tuesday (got the week off) but I'll use tomorrow to set up a few groundblinds, catch some perch, and get the brine made (gonna smoke some jerky).
I have two tags, I'll probably shoot the 1st legal bird I see as I'm relatively new at this, then I'lllook for the big tom.
