RE: mouth calling
Mauser-
I spend a lot of time with a call in my mouth and today I actually was thinking of ways for you to improve...lol. Here's a couple ideas. 1) Experiment with where you have the call in your mouth (as in, how far forward or how far back in the roof of your mouth it is) 2)Experiment with the shape of your mouth as you are calling since this almost shapes the sound as well. What i mean is...you'll see some guys yelping with almost a smile on their face and others with have a rounded mouth like they are puffing a cigar. This all affects sound. 3) Control your air...breath in while you are calling, just don't take adeep breath and think you have to call on one chest full of air, keep breathing through your sequence. YELPING--- Do this... NO CALL IN YOUR MOUTH.....just say out loud keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and as you drop your jaw say UCK....just speak this out loud. THEN visualize a call in your mouth. NOW...we all use our tongues to say words, when your calling your tongue helps to speak as well. Figure out the right tongue pressure for you to say keeeuck with a call in your mouth. Good LUCK!!! When you get good, you should be able to yelp like 2-3 different hens with the same call. |
