Camo a great help, butnot nesassary.
If you check, Reeltree, Mossyoak,ect....Not been around all that long!!
Before that the only camo anyone could get is if they were a veteran or knew someone in the service.:D
Before that, most hunters hunted in kaki green or brown to blend in.
They'd just lean against a tree.
But, like I said it is a great help...
Once I had one gobblin, but he locked up around a 100 yards away on top of a high wall.
So I thought I would sneak in a little closer to try to get a shot.
Sooooo... when I started to move closer to him guess what happened?
He started coming to me at the same time. He caught me standing in the middle of a 4 wheeler trail, in open sight.
I just knew he was going to spot me!!! I mean how could he not???
But , I had my camo on and he never spotted me....
He walked right up the same roadI was standing on,strutting, all the waytil round 30 yards. I raised my shotgun....boom.........23lbs, 11 1/2" beard!!
I know for a fact, If I didn't have my camo he'd seen me..I don't really know how he didn't see me even with the camo...
Anyway I would rather have it and not need it.....than need it and not have it!!!!

I think the camo craze if fueled primarily by commercialism. Camo helps, and I wouldn't turkey hunt without it, but movement is the key.
