You have multible birds come into your set up and you take one... After the shot the other birds come back to peck your downed bird???

Yup, it's pretty common. Usually means you shot the dominant tom and the others just want to count coup to move up the pecking order. That's usually a good thing, means you got the biggest one of the group.[8D]

Last season we took two birds with one gun the same way. The first bird dropped had 2 spurs on one side...BT

i was hoping this would happen this fall. found a group of 3 gobblers and shot one. he flopped around and i laid low hoping they'd react but they didn't show any interest. i figured i probably hadn't shot the boss.

Never seen this myself but I wonder if anyone has ever had a gobbler try to breed a downed gobbler?

Ive never had it happen to me but ive seen it on videos. Just like everyone was sayin, the one that got shot was probably the dominant bird and the others came back to try to fight it and since it was down on the ground they felt like the bigger bird now. They felt like THEY defeated it. Its wierd but it happens.
